Working out of his Mong Kok studio, where he also tattoos clients, Li Ning creates elaborate block prints on canvas  that visualise a compressed timeline of elements and symbols. As sought-after tattoo artist and well-known figure in the Hong Kong tattoo community, Li supported himself during art school through this work, finding the lines and visual vocabulary of tattooing a rich source of inspiration for his prints.
